- Target and Payless also carry shoes for young dancers. Some Wal-Mart and Target stores also carry leotards and tights. *Transition tights and special shoes like toe-undies, lyrical sandals and canvas, split sole ballet shoes need to be purchased at a dance store or online.
- Other places to get dance attire: Center Stage II (in the back of Eddie's Trick Shop)

- www.discountdancesupply.com also has good prices on dance attire.
- Remember to pack dance clothes on the day lessons are scheduled. A separate, labeled dance bag helps keep things organized for classroom teachers, the dance instructor, and your dancer.
- ***PLEASE LABEL ALL YOUR DANCER’S BELONGINGS. ILD! is not responsible for lost items!!!
- Check your email regularly- this is how ILD! communicates nearly all information and photos! Make sure ILD! emails from Adrienne Tatum are not going to your spam inbox.
- Students enrolled in dance class in the morning should come to school with their dance attire on underneath their school clothing or uniform. (if allowed by school dress code) This makes things easier for learning center staff.
Spring Recital- Saturday, June 9th 2012
- The end of the year spring production/recital is a very special event for ILD! We work very hard to put on a full production for the children and this is a great chance to see your performer’s progress. Each class will require (1) costume. Dance costumes are usually suitable for ballet and tap and include a change of skirt or accessory to change the look a little bit. All costume fees are due in April.
- The dance costume fee will be $50.00.
- Competition Company Team dancers may have a more expensive costume in the range of $50-70.
- Gymnastics class costumes will be between $35-45.
- You will keep the costume. ILD! only purchases costumes of quality. Please budget ahead of time for this purchase. The cost of the costume also includes shipping, handling and ILD!’s time to order them for each individual student. Ordering costumes is a very tedious and time consuming task. Each dancer will be measured and great care is taken to ensure your child’s costume matches the theme of the recital and captures the personality of his or her class.
- There is also a small house/trophy fee per dancer/tumbler of $20.00 due in May. This fee covers the cost of putting on a large production and your performer’s trophy. If your child is enrolled in more than one class only one house/trophy fee is required. Dance and gymnastics can be expensive elsewhere; please rest assured that you are getting a bargain- ILD! strives to make lessons and recitals more affordable. We encourages you to look around at other studio/program prices to see where you’re saving.
- Relax during the spring production and put away your video camera. Glenn Spivey Productions films and edits our recitals each year and does a wonderful job capturing each class and pans in on each dancer during the performance. Help us keep our videographer coming back each year by purchasing a quality recording of this special memory.
Winter Recitals
- An informal winter recital will be held at all ILD! locations one evening in December, TBA. Students will wear their normal dance attire. If anything special is needed for the performance, we will let you know in timely manner. Sometimes, ILD! is a part of your learning center’s pageant or Christmas show. There is no cost for these recitals.
Viewing Classes
- Parents are encouraged to come and watch a lesson or two when you can, however, please do not make a habit of attending class as it is a distraction to both your child and his or her classmates. Please notify your learning center’s front office before attempting to view a class. If viewing at a Rec. center where windows are not covered, please don’t spend each entire class watching at the window.
